At Bibles download page: http://www.wordproject.org/bibles/resources/download/index.htm we have the option of downloading Bibles in 55 different languages, which are able to be read on any computer (Apple, PC or Linux), without the need to be connected to the internet. This is part of our vision for countries, like in Africa, where internet is expensive and sometimes difficult to get. We can see from our logs the frequency and the number of Bibles that are being downloaded. Here is a synthesis of last months activity:
Swahili: 4.8 GB [that is 4,800 MB] [divided by 4.5 MB, which is the average for each language Zip file] = 1,066. That is a full Swahili Bible – as here: http://www.wordproject.org/bibles/sw/index.htm, .
As we all know, Swahili, or Kiswahili, is spoken by over 100 million people in East Africa. This is very important as many people have limited access to the internet, and it is costly and not always reliable. From what we have seen, even those who may not have a computer can eventually use of it at community centers, church centers, schools, libraries, work, etc.
Now a breakdown of other languages:
Hindi: 4900 MB / 4.5 MB= 1.088 full Hindi Bibles.
Amharic [Ethiopia] : 3300 MB / 4.5MB = 733 full Amharic Bibles
Afrikaans: 1661 MB / 4.5 MB = 369 Afrikaans Bibles
English : 1500 MB / 4.5 = 333 English Bibles
Zulu (South Africa) : 1400 MB / 4.5 MB = 311 Zulu Bibles
Xhosa (South Africa) : 401 MB / 4.5 MB = 89 Xhosa Bibles

We also offer a downloadable application for Android devices.
We recorded 1000 applications downloaded just in the past 2 weeks. That makes at least 1000 English Bibles – the default language. Besides, other full Bibles may be downloaded from our servers to be used offline with an Android application
Each zip file for one language averages 2 MB. Thus the volume is divided by 2 MB to figure the number of Bibles downloaded.
French – 276 MB – [divided by 2 MB] = 138 full French Bibles downloaded into application. Spanish – 277 MB / 2 = 138 Bibles
