Home Front – November 2020

The month of November has been a month of giving thanks. The most important of all is the fact that it has been 249 days since this territory has had no reported cases of Covid 19. Most people are still extremely cautious and use masks, etc, but in general we feel quite safe. We have been enjoying good health so far and for such we are truly thankful.

As everywhere else in the world: most people use masks.

The weather has been dry and very convenient to undertake house repairs that need to get done. There is tiling and roofing and cleaning and we undertook an entire reorganization of Wordproject’s office, now featuring a new adjustable height desk, which makes sitting or standing up an option for work. Since there is more time to be spent at home these days we also invested in a simple but very effective exercise bike. Our team here has pedaled 900 plus kilometers in less than 2 months… imagine a distance that would take us almost all the way to Shanghai.

Jorge: Fixing tiles arouund the house.
Exercising bike: a must in this sedentary lifestyle we live in.

The thanksgiving celebration was a time of gathering here with local family members and Donna prepared a delicious turkey, as required by tradition, and, of course, pumpkin pie. That brings us to the need to use that exercise bike and pedal all the way where our imagination will take us.

Next to thanksgiving, as usual, comes Christmas preparations with Donna. She counts on some priceless helpers, the granddaughters, who behold and get excited with Christmas that is approaching. This week, in our family Sunday morning fellowship we start reading the scriptures the Christmas story on Luke 1 and in the next couple of weeks we will read Luke 2 and Matthew accounts in our study of those celebrated events that changed the world forever!
