During the month of August we were able to spread our wings beyond the confines of the Lisbon area. We rediscovered the joys of camping life as we headed to our northern destinations. Since the pandemic, many people have taken advantage of the fresh air and outdoor lifestyle that is so enjoyable as the sunny dry conditions of summer here make it an excellent time to get out and explore. All the sites we stopped at were full of campers and we enjoyed the varied fellowship opportunities offered!
Our journey north was of great significance to us. We were able to meet, in person, with precious brethren we have not seen for years due to the pandemic, howbeit we have continued to work together over this period of time. Dear Paulo has been faithful in his efforts to preach the good news of the kingdom and each trip he makes to Africa he delivers the iBibles to their coveted destinations. The seeds are being planted in war torn Mozambique and we value his courage and initiative in making regular trips there. José has been a friend for decades and has also been instrumental in getting the iBibles to brethren and missionaries in his part of the country.

Abílio has been a precious friend and supporter for years. Both he and we are joicing in the gift of life as he almost lost his life a short time ago due to COVID complications. As Paul said it would have added such great sorrow to have lost such a dear friend and God’s mercy and grace are clearly displayed in his miraculous recovery to almost full health. Hallelujah!
Abilio took us to his home town and to the church where he was baptized. We had the opportunity to experience the centuries old pipe organ as you will see in the clips below. The organ has an inscription in Latin, in the front, that says: ‘Praise the Lord with string instruments and organs’ (Psalm 150)

August birthdays included Jorge and Jason, Joana and Isabel! Celebrations were full of heart felt love. Below are some of the images related to other family activities and birthdays. Enjoy!
